Hiking and Ziplining Reykjafoss Waterfall, Iceland

Zip line above the Reykjafoss Waterfall in a breathtaking experience that is approximately 90 meters long.

Reykjafoss Waterfall is located in Svartá River in the Skagafjörður District (Skagafjordur) in North Iceland. Svartá River is the largest of its kind in the area and Reykjafoss the biggest and most impressive waterfall.

The water plummets down 14 metres in three steps to form this stunning waterfall, flowing like a thick veil and hugging the cracks and crevices of the cliffs. There is a path leading from the fence at the nearby Vindheimamelar Fields that passes Reykjafoss Waterfall to a footbridge which leads you to the Fosslaug Natural Pool.

There are many other interesting sights to see in the area, and we recommend a hike to the summit of Mælifell Mountain (Maelifell), which stands 1100 metres tall. The hike usually takes around 3–5 hours. You can also visit the canyon and farm at Merkigil, the desolated Skatastaðir Farm (Skatastadir) and the small and interesting Ábæjarkirkja Curch (Abaejarkirkja).
